Classification: Query
My line is;
James D. Ayres, Jr (my father), James D. Ayres, Sr, Lorenzo W. Ayres, Jonathan Bee Ayres, James Ayres, James Ayars, Joseph Ayars, Caleb Ayars, Isaac Ayars, Robert Ayars.
The book, Robert Ayars And His Descendants, Page 69, Family member 928 lists my grandfather James D. Ayars (son of Lorenzo W.) b. 17 Jan 1887 (he spelled it Ayres as did his father and I believe his grandfather).
I am also interested to know any history or reason for the spelling change of Ayars to Ayres. Robert Ayars And His Descendants book lists the spelling as 'Ayars' through my grandfather's name.I do know that our family has spelled the name 'Ayres" at least back to mid 1700's.
I would love any photos of Robert Ayars' gravesite or any other information you may have on my line. My email is Jim_Ayres2000@Yahoo.com.
