Is Simon Aycock of NC in the book? I am descendent of him and found my information in a hard cover book in my local library. In that book it stated that they could not trace any furhter back in the records available.

Simon married Elizabeth Bennett, both of North Carolina. Their son Burrell is the branch of the family that I am related to. Burrell was born about 1785 and this is as far back as the author of this book was able to get.
