By the way, DNA testing is yielding some positive results. I have tested as a match with the only other known Aycock family member to participate to date. I am from the Reddick Aycock line, and the other individual is from the James Aycock line. That is, James, supposed son of William (born 1705, VA). And, I'm working on a possible match with the Charles Aycock line (Wayne and Dobbs Counties). Perhaps DNA testing will continue to be a useful tool in threading together our family brick walls. Time will tell.

I do think the theories of an earlier Aycock generation in the Wayne County region are very plausible.
