Hi Peggy,

I don't think you are missing anything except maybe the cover page. I believe pages 2 and 6 were blank pages. If not, I have never seen them either. My copy is probably not any more legible than yours, but I scanned mine into my computer and did some cleanup with paint shop pro just to get rid of some of the background clutter. I left the pages at a large size to make them more readable, but I'll be glad to send you a copy of what I have.
If you have a minute, check my genealogy site at home.comcast.net/~lemccumber to see what I might be missing on Rufus B. and Annie's descendants. If you like, you can contact me direct at lemccumber@comcast.net.
I have a number of old pictures of some of the Aye's, but I don't think I have any of Rufus or Annie.
I am a gg grandson of Jacob Henry Aye and Clarissa Babcock. Jacob and Rufus were brothers.

I am a gg granddaughter of Rufus Blackmer Aye and Annie E. Ashbrook.

I recently found the "Genealogy of Jacob Aye" booklet at my mother's. My copy is legible but not very good and I think that it may be incomplete. I would love to know what I am missing. I have pages 7 through 18 which list the four generations at the time of publication. I did not realize that it was written by Wm. Swayze Aye.
Included with my copy are pages 3-5 titled "Traditional History of Jacob Aye". I do not have a cover page or page 6.

I can fill in some of the genealogy of Rufus B. and Annie's children.

It's good to see your return, Larry. I had tried your mediaone email a couple of years ago but it was invalid.

I am also looking for any old photos. Does anyone know if there might be some of Henry or Mary James Aye?

Peggy Hays

Are you related to Rufus E. Aye (married to Ellen Baker) or to Rufus Blackmer Aye (married to Eliza Jane McPherson and then to Annie Elizabeth Ashbrook)? I will try to find the copy of "The Genealogy of Jacob Aye" by William Swayze Aye. I think it was a paper copy and not a very good one at that.

Larry McCumber
(descended from Jacob Henry Aye)

Re: John Thomas Aye - Priors

My name is Pamela Aye Simon, Aye being my maiden name. I am the daughter of John Thomas Aye, MD, who was the grandson of the John Thomas Aye from Beaver Falls of whom you wrote. My grandfather was Ralph Williams Aye, who married Sarah E. Hill/Wilson, and had one child - my dad. My brother's name is also Ralph Williams Aye. About 20 years ago, my brother visited Germany looking for the Aeh family traces. I am unsure what he found, but can put you in contact with him. He is a physician in Seattle, WA.
I am researching my dad's (JTAye the 2nd) family for determining my DAR status. I was told many times that his family dated back to the Revolutionary War, bur am unsure how to trace this. It probably wasn't the Aeh people, but maybe the Williams name? If you have any info on this or other areas of interest, please let me know. My dad died 12 years ago in Pittsburgh, but my mom and brother would be most interested!
Thank you
Pam

I have an AYE line in my family. The farthest back I have reached is the early 1800's when Hans AYE came over to the USA from Germany. He came with his brother Rolf and sister Anna Steen. Don't know the names of the other siblings that remained in Germany, but I believe there were six children.

I would like to compare notes with you if possible.

Looking forward to your response.
My address: RC Peper, 6220 No. Paseo Valdear, Tucson, AZ 85750

Maureen. The only thing I have on Simon James is from the History of Licking County, OH. It states that Simon left Bulah, Cambria Co., PA without his family to build a cabin in the Welsh Hills Settlement. He later with his family removed to the Welsh Hills settlement in 1804.

I haven't been able to find him listed in PA.
Have also looked at passenger lists from Wales but with no luck.

Because of her Welsh blood, Maria Aye always made sure that people pronounced her name with a long i. (Mariah)

I'll keep looking and maybe I can come up with something.

Bill
