Classification: Query
Surnames: AYERS, BALL, THOMAS, REYNOLDS, POTTER, SCUDDER
Hello,
John BALL was born c. 1730. He was married before 1760 in
Elizabethtown, Essex, NJ.
He had 3 children, all born at Elizabeth:
William, Bp. Nov. 30, 1760 married Hannah.
John, Bp. Jan. 9, 1763.
Mary AYERS, Bp. Sep. 30,1764 (AYERS being her middle name).
It seems to me that AYERS as a middle name would be a little
uncommon unless someones mother was an AYERS.
His wife's name seems to begin with a ' Ta ' or an ' S '
(I think possibly Tamara) but his will was damaged where her name appears.
I am guessing Tamara as it was a somewhat common AYERS given name around this time frame.
His will was pro. Apr. 4, 1770 Essex Co., NJ.
Edward THOMAS was named executor. Broughton REYNOLDS, Stephen POTTER and Enoch (looks like SCUDDER) were witnesses and referred to as beloved. I can't tell if they were beloved family or friends.
I surely would appreciate hearing from anyone familiar with these names or anyone with an AYERS / BALL connection.
Thank you!
