My family goes back to Azpeitia, Spain but I don't have much info other than that my dad's father was Militon Azpeitia from the town of Azpeitia. Aparently there was a scandle because Militon was to be a priest and Maria del Carmen was to be a nun. They met and eloped. They brought disgrace to the families so they left and went to America. My father, Francisco Perez Azpeitia, was born in Topeka, Ks. He and his sisters went to the Leon, Mexico area and had a shoe making business there. As far as I know his sister lived out their years there. My father returned to the states where I was born. Aspeitia is a legal name change.
