I don't know Augustus but have a considerable amount of information about one of his probably relatives - Johann (who used John in the US) George Baade, also born in Mecklenburg in northern Germany. He lived in Iowa and fought in the Civil War. In1870 he married Doris Krambeer. Children included Gustave J. born 1872, Ida born 1874, Matilda "Tillie" born 1877, Henry born 1879, Louise (Louena) born 1880 or 1881, Arthur born 1884, Theodore born 1886, William "Willie" born 1888, Etta born 1890, George born 1892, Jennie born 1893 or 1894, Laura (or Sara) born 1895 and Leona born 1897.
