John Baader

He was the Commissioner of the Church Administration of the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1846. Probably born between 1800 and 1820. Had a son Carl who changed his name to Charles Baader Herrmann after he went to England. Does anyone have any ideas about what his professional title might mean? Or have any information on him or his wife? Thanks!

Baader, Adolf & Catherine, in CA, 1890-1900

I am helping my cousin research her Kaeffer ancestry. I have Emilie Kaeffer who married Adolf Baader, perhaps in Germany or France. Emilie was b. in Alsace-Lorraine in 1885; Adolf was b. in 1880 in Germany; they had a son Philip, b. in "other county," according to the CA death index; probably Germany, about 1909. Adolph died in Sonoma, CA in 1961; Emilie died in Sonoma in 1976; Philip died in San Francisco County, CA in 1991.

I also have Augustine Kaeffer, sister of Emilie, b. 1896 in Alsace-Lorraine, died 1978 in Sonoma County, CA; married Harry Witt, b. 1891 in CA, died 1963 in Sonoma. His death index in CA lists his mother's birth name as Baader. I would like to find out how Adolf & Catherine Baader are related.

Anybody with info please contact me.

Thank you,
Kathy

Re: Theoplila Baader

Hi, my ancestor Gertrud Baader was born in 1762 in Sonthofen, Bavaria. According to a very helpful Eric Jaeger, she moved to Hochst, Vorarlberg, Austria at some point where she was married to Josef Schneider. I was wondering if the Baader/Bader family you all are speaking of might be the same as mine.

Thanks,
Liz Ortel

I am Theophila`s great, great, great, great granddaughter. I recently completed the retrospective family tree of the Mentels which traces the Mentels back to 1595 and the Baders back to 1667. I`d be willing to share in exchange for other family information.. May I ask how you are related to Theophila?
