Hi Debra,
Would like to compare notes with you. I have ancestors who lived in Grand Haven, Mi. Most notable is Jacob Baar born 1859 in Grand Haven, married to Hattie Slaghuis. He was a very prominent man in Grand Haven. Postmaster, Mayor,Owned a land and real estate company, negotiated to bring electric power to Grand Haven, and much more. His father was Simon Baar, born in Holland, married Lena Yonker, settled in Grand Haven 1856.
Also on a another branch is Peter Baar, born about 1875 in Chicago. He married a Henrietta van der Ven. They owned a poultry farm in Three Oaks Michigan. It could be that some of their children could intersect with your family.
