Barbara Baas was born in Rhine Bavaria, Germany on 8/15/1839 and she died in New Orleans on 4/7/1924. She Married John Walt (11/6/1834 - 3/2/1912)in New Orleans on 10/7/1855. Looking for info on Barbara Baas and husband George G. Goepper. They had a daughter Elizabeth Goepper-Lutz who came to Wisconsin from Baden,Germany following her husband.I dont have any info on Barbara and George and dont know if they remained in Germany or eventually went to Wisconsin also. My name is Rebecca Faith Baas. I was born on Apr.19, 1981 in Northridge, CA. My mothers name is Geraldine [jerry] Medrano. My FATHERS name is Lawrence BAAS. I have never met him or even seen a picture. I am now 21 yrs old and I would love to meet him or recieve any info that might be helpful. I was told he was born in Holland. I was born a Baas in Amsterdam Holland and emigrated to the US (California) in 1962
I'm curious about any other "Baas" in this country and wonder if there is
a family relationship? My dad had two brothers Piet and Dick who never had any children
to carry on the family name.

Arthur Baas was, I believe the cousin of my grandfather, Jacob Baas. Jake resided in Columbus Oh. He also had a brother named Art who was a mechanic for the Columbus Police Dept. (I can't be too sure)
The other side of my grandfathers family owned and operated the rendering plant on the south side of Columbus.

My search has suggested that my great grandfather John Gottlieb Baas (1848-1879), in Milwaukee, was from a Prussian vs. a Dutch family. The progenitor, Ernst Christian Baass, had several sons including Heinrich or Henry Baas, who I presume was the father of John Gottlieb. If there is any information to confirm or refute this connection I would be very grateful.

Despite great help I have hit the wall with my g grandfather, John Gottlieb Baas who, according to the LDS, was born in Milwaukee in 1849 and, from other sources, married Anna Jane Treutelaar in 1873 and died in 1879. Their children were Eugenie (b. 1874), Edward S. (b. 1878), John (b. 1879) and my grandmother Flora (b. 1879), all in Milwaukee. It's pretty sure that his family emigrated from The Netherlands (Zeeland?)around the 1840's. Who are these people, and what can be said about the Baas family. As always, I welcome wild guesses.

Regina Lehmann Baas is the daughter of Fred & Augusta Lehmann. I am researching Fred Lehmann as he is my great-grandfathers brother. Regina was born in Whittemore, Iowa. I finally visited my states vital statistics office and obtained copies of my Paternal Grandparents Death Certificates. I now know the following:

Grandfather: Lawrence William Baas b. 6/25/1899 born in Alabama assumed Monroe County (Frisco City) His Father's name was James Harrison Baas and his Mother was Vida L. Sawer he died 12/24/74

Grandmother: Bernice Blanche Baas (Maiden:Williams)
b. 1/12/1913 in Pennsylvania that's all I have on her Would like more. On her death certificate it list both parents as unknown. she died 9/16/1976

I found the Christian Bell and Maria Baas family on rootsweb.com. It lists the Christian Bell family back to the late 1700's. I am looking for information concering a Marie or Mary Baas. She was born in Mecklenburg, Germany on Dec. 17, 1843 and died in Whittemore, IA on Aug. 18, 1912. She married Christian Bell in Mecklenburg. Their first child, Sophia, was born in Germany. Their second, Charles, was born at sea while coming to America in 1866. The other 8 children were born in Addison, Illinois. The family later moved to Northern Iowa.

Any information concerning Marie (Mary) Baas or Christian Bell would be greatly appricated.

I have a 1873 Milwaukee, WI marriage certificate for my maternal great grandfather, John Gottlieb Baas, and Anna Jane Erentelaar. They had at least one son, John, and two daughters, one of whom was my grandmother. That's about what I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My GG Grandfather's name was George Jacob Baas. I believe he was born in Alsace Lorraine, Germany on 9/8/1837. I have been told that he came to America approximately between the ages of 16-18. Later married Anna Marie Guttermuth (sp) (d/b-7/9/1851?). They had 10 children: Annie Mary Katherine, Katherine, Josephine, Estella, Anna Louise, Emma Philipine, Lillian, Caroline, John, and Albert.
