A biography/family history of Nicholas Baatz is included in "Montana, Its History & Biography", Vol 2, page 575.
Parents: John & Annie (Kessler) Baatz, natives of Luxemburg.
Nicholas located to Verdun, France, at age 11. In 1880, he immigrated to Ohio; in 1881, he went to Helena, MT, and later to Marysville. In 1890, he moved to Columbia Falls, MT, & in 1892 to Great Falls, MT; 1919, to Billings MT.
On 20 Aug 1898, Nick married Miss Elizabeth Zimmerman, a native of Cincinnati, OH.
