I am researching the family (ancestors and descendants) of Franz BAATZ and Katharina HOLLINGER Baatz of Herschweiler-Pettersheim, Pfalz.

Franz BAATZ (Ancestral file Number 1CG8-47G), a master tailor, was born 6 Dec 1830, the son of Franz BAATZ and Margaretha SCHUCK.

Katharina HOLLINGER (Ancestral File Number 1CG8-48N) was born 8 Sep 1837, the daughter of Philipp Heinrich Michael HOLLINGER and Maria Elisabeth KLEIN.

Their children were: 1. Maria born 15 Jun 1857. 2. Franz born 29 Apr 1859. 3. Friedrich born 22 Dec 1861. 4. Katharina born 12 Aug 1864. 5. August born about 1869. 6. Karl born 27 Mar 1873.

No. 2 Franz (aka Frank) Baatz, a tailor, came to Chicago in 1884 where he lived at 3342 Ogden Avenue. He married Carolina HUGER and had three (3) children: D. Clara born about 1885, Anna born about 1887, and Lillian born about 1895, according to the 1910 United States Census. Frank died 18 May 1935.

No. 6 Karl (aka Charles), a carpenter and musician, came to Chicago about 1891 where he lived at 4326 South Fairfield Avenue. He married Katherine SUMMER and had seven (7) children: Bertha born 23 Apr 1894, William born 28 Oct 1897, Annie born about 1900, Lillian born 2 Nov 1901, Elizabeth born about 1904, Frances born about 1906, and Henry born about 1912, according to the 1910 and 1920 United States Censuses.

Bertha married Frank HACKERT and Lillian may have married BERNHARDT.
