This is an update to my previous post in 2004:

WW1 Draft Card lists Abraham Tattos Baba as being from Urmia, Persia, born Dec 15, 1886.

He states he has a wife and 4 children, and he is living in Stoneboro, Mercer PA at the time. He works for a coal mining company there.

The date of the draft card is June 1917. He must still be in the Stoneboro area as of Nov 1917, as my grandmother was born in July of 1918 in Butler, PA.
Family memory although dim states he promised to return for my great grandmother who was 17 at the time (he was 28-29) but never returned, due to WW1 or returning to the family he already had. No one knows for sure, he never returned and it wasn't spoken of again in the family. A sad story really because there is a gaping whole in the family history surrounding him.

The name turns up again in the Chicago census of 1920, with wife and children. Age is close but not exact. His native tongue is listed as Armenian, which would agree with what nationality was listed on my grandmother's BC as father, but he is living in an area of Chicago that is Assyrian.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, and what our family would really like is perhaps a picture of Abraham T Baba so that we may see resemblances.
