I have quite a bit of information about the Babbitt's in Ohio and Hancock County, Kentucky. The Hallie that you mentioned is my father's brother. He was my uncle. Hallie's father was John William Babbitt and John William's father was Charles Joy Babbitt. Hallie's mother was Elmina Wells. These were my grandparents and Charles Joy was my great grandfather. I found a William Burr Curtis, son of William T. Curtis of Madison County, NY. William T Curtis was bc 1777 and died 8 APR 1850 Genoa, Livingston Co, MI. William's wife was Elizabeth bc 1782 d 18 NOV 1858 Livingston Co, MI Was this Elizabeth Babbitt?????

The above does not quite fit as it doesn't seem likely that Samuel would have skipped over his daughter.

Travis was the son of my cousin Gregg A. Babbitt. Grandson to Charles Babbitt and Great Grandson to Emmett Babbitt. Gregg is also deceased. Travis had 3 children. Unique, Serenity and Diego.

PAUL BABBITT
Paul A. Babbitt, a 27 year resident of Silver Lakes, entered into rest Nov. 4 at his residence in Helendale.
He was born April 28, 1920, to Paul and Aliliah Babbit in Torrington, Wyo. He was 88 years old.
Paul enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country during WWII. Paul later became a general manager and worked in that capacity for 39 years with various companies.
He is survived by his loving wife, June, of Helendale; daughter Marjorie Young of Yuba City, Calif.; wonderful sister Ruby Fadler of Roseburg, Ore.; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are scheduled to be held at 11:31 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, staging area No. 6 at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd. in Riverside.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Horizon Memorial Services of Barstow.

I'm the one that wrote you on your book sight. You sent me some very helpful information. Thank you. I'd love more information on the Murray family. I have gotten a lot of information on the Naper family through various sites. I haven't thought of the Babbett spelling. I've seen Babbet in the census for OH for some of them. I have marriage and death certificates for several of Henry and Susie Babbitt and several of their children/grandchildren so am pretty confident about that part of the tree. I believe this is your Ruth Babbitt because mother Sarah Murray's sister was Ruth Eliza Murray Shattuck who lived in Boone County.

David Babbitt and son Henry Babbitt were probably original settlers of Naperville with their families. (were present by the summer of 1832 at least) Henry's mother-in-law, Amy Murray was the sister of Joseph and John Naper and also an original settler.

Nelson was a popular name in the Naper family: John Nelson Naper, Robert Nelson Murray, to name a couple.

I wrote a children's book about Ruth Eliza Murray, so I have info about the Murray family, Emery Nelson Babbitt's mother, if you want it.

My mom Betty Babbitt(maiden name)her brother Clifford Warren Babbitt,other brother Ferrell Lynn Babbitt,and one other Reuben Donald Babbitt (who died as a baby) were all born in Oklahoma. They came to California in the 1940's when they wer young. All of them were born in the 1930's. They lived in a big mansion in Lemon Grove,California. My mom remembers visiting her grandfather William Carlos Babbitt(went by Carlos) some where up in southern California around Fresno I think. My mom and her brothers father was Reuben Douglas Babbitt. I know my uncle Cliff had a son with someone he didn't stay with and therefore has not had contact with. I could ask my mom that son's name. Cliff married again and had a son Douglas,a daughter Patricia,a daughter Rebecca,and a daughter Tyrell. Hey Lisa It's Lisa sounds kinda strange well what are the odds. Any who my Maternal grandfather was C M Babbitt from ? lived in LA CA in the 40's and never left he is one out of 5 children I think it's 3 boys and 2 girls .My Grandad had 2 girls so there you have some of it. Lisa

Hello Sally sorry it took so long to answer.
My Grandfather was Raymond A Babbitt son of Harvey Babbitt. Yes we are related. I am kind of new at all of this geneology stuff but I am a fast study This year I have the honor of setting up for this years family reunion. My question for all out there is when was the first Babbitt reunion held at the Algonac State park in Michigan. My cousin Jeff Babbitt jokes that i shas been likee 999 years. We do have a picture around 55years old at that site. any help would be great. Seems like we should call the reunion the Harvey Babbitt Reunion. I have worked with a man I just found we have the same great grand father Harvey Babbitt. What a hoot.

Apparently a family of Babbits lived for a short time in Ohio County, Kentucky near Fordsville. I have a picture on a card addressed to my mother and it is signed Eddie Babbit. I also have another picture not signed but it is of the same person. I have heard my mother talk about this family and I believe one of the young men was named Hallie. Don't know whether this is new information for you or not, but Levi Luddington was still alive in Jan 1823 - he was the executor of Zachariah Burtch's estate and is listed in the will notes for Zachariah. Found this on the Elgin County Library website
