My actual search is for Kelly's, but I am looking for more information on Babcock because SamuelRachel Babcock,UEL Orange Co. had a daughter Mary who married David Kelly in Warwick,Orange Co in 1784. Samuel Babcock died in Goshen in 1778, and DavidMary Kelly and family moved up to Camden East, Ontario Canada sometime before 1790, I believe that Rachel Babcock came with them.

If you are still in Washington, Lucinda is buried one state over. She is buried in Oregon. I do believe that a few of her daughters are as well.

Etta moved to Washington state after she divorced her husband around 1938 or so and my family has lived there since. Didn't know that about Merritt, pretty cool.

I corresponded with him for several years before his death.

I don't know much about Joseph and Sarah/Sally's children. I do have the name of one - Joshua (1783-1828). I got this from a Babcock family tree I found on ancestry.com.

My granddaughter and I are seeking DAR membership through our patriot Moses Bedunah. We've hit a snag with his son, John. We can not document a connection there. Would you have any information?
Heather, you mentioned, some Babcocks and minor connection to Baileys. I recently found a fair detailed account of a couple lines of Babcocks which leads eventually to KS by way of MI and WI. Joseph Bailey Whitcomb m. Julia Babcock and Stephen Babcock of Maine m. Lucretia Whitcomb in Green Bay, WI. One son, George Prentice Babcock, b. 1864 at Mill Center, WI, left among the memorablilia an interesting autograph book. But not interesting to our Fox family. Do you know of the any of these folks? The records are near complete with birth and death dates and most places of birth. Am happy to share this infomation. Time frame 1790s - 1960s.
Cheers, CFox

"There is an Elizabeth Babcock, age 51 living with Reuben Babcock age 26?. Where is the father, David? He is not in Bethel."

I am interested in your Reuben Babcock. Could his age be 21 instead of the 26... mine was born 1829, Reuben David Babcock. story goes... his father died when he was 6 months old... as usual I know everything but who his father is ... even served in military... but they do not have his records....something must be wrong.

Please contact me at stephencbabcock@aol.com and put Babcok in the subject line
Thank You

It is very possible she was born around the year 1885. If anyone recognizes this woman or has information about descendants of her, I would be interested to hear from you. It is a very nice photo and I would like to get it to the appropriate family.

Ok, my family fits in here somewhere but not sure where. John Yarno and Mary Buckley had a son named Daniel Jerome Yarno. He married Antis Adwilda Babcock and they had six children: Alice May b. 1889 in MN, Etta Belle b. 1890 In Sauk Center ND, James Albert b.1894 (he died in WWI. I have a picture of Antis sitting in front of his grave in France.) Daniel Jerome b.1892, Estella Ione (Dodie) b. 1896 and Julia Magdalane b. 1898.

Antis and Daniel divorced around 1909 and Antis moved to Terry, MT where her father Plympton Babcock and her uncle John West Montague lived. She must have taken all of the children except Etta with her. She bought a land patent of 160 acres there June 16, 1913. Her daughter Alice married shortly after that in Havre, MT. Ione and Julia left to go back to North Dakota to live withtheir sister Etta after George Vining abused them. She had two sons with George. She must have moved to CO with George as she died there in 1934.

Neither Daniel or George were very nice guys. Daniel died peniless in Chehalis WA. Family story states that once Antis and Daniel divorced, Daniel took his son Daniel to Canada to become Canadian citizens and to homestead there. They couldn't make a go of it so came back to the US and become renaturalized.

Antis' son James Albert was killed in WWI and I have a picture of here sitting in front of his grave in France. My grandmother remembers Antis as a 'young' grandmother and full of fun.

Would anyone know if the Julia A. who married William Cummings was Julia A. Ellsworth, the daughter of Amanda Babcock-Ellsworth-Dean? Amanda & William Cummings were living close together in 1850 & 1860. See the census data below.
According to Amanda's obit, she moved with family to Wisconsin in 1846, so William Cummings and Julia A. were probably married in NY, though I have not found a marriage record on-line.
Also, would anyone know the parents of this William Cummings? He named a son George Willard, so he probably comes from the branch of the family that inter-married with the Willard family.

1850 Census, WI, Dane Co., Oregon Twp, 17-20 July, pg 274a,
#110/111:
Wm Cummings, 33, m, Farmer, 1000, VT
Julia, 26, f, NY <--- [Julia A.
