Hi everyone,
Well I have just wasted the last 2 months because I got my Grandfathers name wrong.Basic stuff really and so I am quite embarrased.Anyway I know now my grandfather was Percy Robert Baber who was born in Lambeth London 23rd Sept 1901 and died in London 23rd Sept 1976(yes he died on his birthday) He married Lily Elsie Bunce and she was born 28th Feb 1899 also in Lambeth London and died 18 June 1979.I would appreciate any other info on my grandfather, and his father etc etc.

The Beaver(s) DNA Project has grown tremendously in our first three years. We now have 42 participants representing 12 distinct families. While we still have a long way to go, we have certainly grown large enough to help many researchers find genetic matches.

I am looking for the Baber family in Nicholas County, WV who raised my great-grandfather, George E. Cutlip. I don't know what the circumstances were that he was orphaned and apparently neither does anyone in my family. It apparently was not talked about to any of the older generation of my family that is still living. George Cutlip was born about 1863 and I would like to find out who his parents were or st least his mother. Any help would be appreciated.

Robert W. Baber, 81, of Upland passed away May 18, 2006, at San Antonio Community Hospital. He was born September 30, 1924, in Illinois and was a resident of Upland for 17 years. He previously lived in Alta Loma and Whittier. Mr. Baber's career involved dental office design and sales for 50 years. He was well known in the dental community throughout Southern California. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the European Theater during World War II. He attended college in Illinois and was an active member of Claremont United Church of Christ. Mr. Baber is survived by his wife, Jeannie Baber of Upland; daughters, Sandi Gillespie of Upland and Sherry Richtien of Victorville; sons, David Baber of Portland, OR, Brian Baber of Temecula, and Steve Bills of Concord; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday May 25, at Claremont United Church of Christ, Kingman Chapel, Claremont. Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona , is in charge of arrangements.

I need information from you reference my Susan/Susanna/Susannah Baber who married Richard Henry Butler. I want to order a copy of the marriage and in my notes I do not have the state where they married.
Susan may have been married before to a Humphry/Humphrey but I have not located that either--she and Richard had a child- Alice Humphrey- age 1 living with them in the 1860 Census in Greene County, Indiana. She was not with them in the 1870 Census in Sullivan County, Indiana so she probably married before then or died.
If I had a print out of your information reference Baber-Butler I could just check it and add the recent information for you and mail it back to you.
I have not been on your site for a long time---tell me step by step how to get on, please!

I am looking for any information on the whereabouts of Mr. Jerry Nelson, born in Nelson county on December 10, 1955 as Gary Wayne Baber.

He is believed to be a son of Mr. Herbert M. Baber and Evelyne Pauline Campbell.

Only a few years ago, Jerry Nelson worked as program-director of the Alpha Center in Milledgeville-Georgia. However, the Center doesn't seem to exist anymore. Probably Mr. Nelson works in a garage in Georgia nowadays, although I am not absolutely sure about that.

I'd like to share some information with Mr. Nelson/Baber regarding his biological father, in which he might be interested.

To anyone related to Walter, I believe b. 1867 & d. 1924. Buried in Lucas County, IA and or his wife Nancy b. 1876 & d. 1960. Buried next to Walter. I have a photo probably from the late 1800's that is in good condition and shows 2 children. The eldest is likely a boy but can't tell about the baby. I would like to find out if we are related also. The photo was in an album my Great-grandmother had. Her name was Sarah Margaret ENGLAND and she married Casper CLAPP. They lifed in Chariton, IA.

She was listed in a Lancaster family bible and was living as a widow in 1860 with a Lancaster family in Arkansas although they previously lived in Heard County, Georgia.

The census states her birthplace as North Carolina and her birthdate would have been 1786.

Gertrude married Carroll Stuart Baber on November 20, 1937. She lived in Virginia before she moved to Rio Rancho, New Mexico in 2000 and was a current resident of Acantilado Vista Retirement Community. I have a Fannie Baber-Bratcher b. 1-1-1893 d. 2-15-1978 m. Monroe L. Bratcher on 3-9-1927. She is said to have been born in S. W. AR, and is buried in Sevier Co, AR. I am looking for her ancestors and any siblings, and children of this marriage! I have looked everywhere for her and had no success! Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Benjamin Franklin BABER married Margaret Rachel MAGILL in Ray Co, MO 21 Nov 1867. I have found reference to one child, a son named Edwin Clay BABER. My wife's g-grandfather was an Edwin Clay BABER, "from Missouri" according to family history. He married Lucy BAINE. They had a son named Walter Franklin BABER who was born 28 May 1891. He married Xenia Juanita WOODMAN and they raised a family of four daughters and three sons in Oklahoma City. Does anyone recognize any of this? I'd love to share notes.

Her mother's name was Mary and her father was John Baber. She had a brother names Albert and a sister named Rose. My ggg Grandfather, William D Baber, was born in King William, cnty, VA abt 1813. He married Julia F. Pollard in Brunswick cnty, VA. on 14 Nov 1833. Julia was born in Norfolk cnty, VA abt. 1813.
They has six children, Mary Adelia, b. abt 1837, Virginia A., b. abt 1839,William Henry, b 5 May 1840, Georgiana, b. abt 1843,Leonidas, b. abt 1846 and Thaddeus, b. abt 1848.
The family were living in Farmville, Prince Edward cnty in 1850, but appear to have relocated to Richmond, Henrico cnty abt 1852-1853. By 1860 it appears that William D. Baber was no longer with the family.
I cannot seem to find out who the parents or siblings of William D. Baber were. One of his brothers might have been named E. Socrates Baber, but I'm not certain.
I would very much appreciate any help anyone can give me on William D. Baber, his parents and siblings.

Mrs.Baber belonged to the Loraine Chapter,Order of the Eastern Star,Judean Shrine,worked with the Rainbow Girls and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Baber had been a Mason with Gastonia Lodge 668,a York Rite Mason and a Shriner with the Oasis Temple.He was also a member of the Eastern Star and White Shrine and a chapter dad for DeMolay.He was active in all Masonic work and received his 60-year pin from the Masons in 1972.
Surviving are his widow,Leona Baber of the home,two daughers,Mrs.Ruth McCluney,Gastonia,Mrs Rebekah Spencer,Gastonia,one sister,Mrs.Connie Williams,South Carolina;6 grandchidren and 13 greatgrandchildren.

Former Gastonian,Known to Hundreds as "Grandma",Passes At Saxapahaw.

Gastonia,April 17.-Mrs.Eugenia A.Baber,known affectionately to hundreds of friends and acquaintances over this section of the state and in South Carolina as "Grandma"Baber,died at 10 o`clock this morning at the age of 97 at the home of her son,James R.Baber,in Saxapahaw,N.C.Mrs.Baber,until she left here about three years ago to make her home in Saxapahaw,had lived in Gastonia for 25 years or more.Funeral services will be held at Main Street Methodist Church here at 4:00 Wednesday afternoon,with the pastor Rev.John W.Moore officiating ,assisted by Dr.J.W.Henderlite.Pallbearers will be Otto Baber,Luther Baber, and James Baber,grandsons,Herbert Hogue,greatgrandson and Robert Baber and Sam Davis ,great nephews. Interment will be in the family plot in Oakwood Cemetery here.Mrs.Baber was born in Cleveland County on Oct.24,1837,the youngest child in a family of 8.her father ,Thomas Crow,was of Irish blood,having emigrated from the old country when he was a small boy.When she was 8,the family moved to SC and near the town of Blacksburg,she grew to womanhood.In March 1856,she was married to James Graham Baber of Rutherford county ,who marched away to the Civil War several years later,leaving his wife with 3 small children.When the husband returned from the war the family continued to live at Blacksburg and other children were born until the household numbered 8 sons and 1 daughter.After her husband`s death Mrs.Baber moved to Colorado,but came to Gastonia 8 years later.Of these children,3 survive,James R.Baber of Saxapahaw,R.B.Baber of Denver,Col.and Mrs.Barbara Smythe of Fort Mill,SC.In addition,several grandchildren,great-grandchildren,and great-great-grandchildren survive.
