Beaver(s) DNA Project

The Beaver(s) DNA Project has grown tremendously in our first three years. We now have 42 participants representing 12 distinct families. While we still have a long way to go, we have certainly grown large enough to help many researchers find genetic matches.

Your family could very easily match one our current participants. As such, you may find insight as to where to look for more ancestors and information. Personally, DNA testing allowed me to prove my 4th and 5th Great Grandfathers, so you can imagine my excitment with this technology.

Testing is simple, painless, and reasonably priced. But if money is an issue, we'd still like to hear from you.

Please visit our Project web site:

www.ftdna.com/public/beaversdna

Because Y-DNA is only passed from father to son (not daughters), a suitable participant must be a man named Beaver(s), or at least be a genetic Beaver(s). If you know any such men from your family, we'd love to hear from you to address any questions or concerns.

But even if you don't know any men named Beaver(s), we'd still like to hear from you. In addition to DNA research, our collective group also can help with traditional research. We have several excellent researchers more than willing to help break down your "brick walls".

I'm looking forward to working with all interested researchers. Feel free to contact me directly at:

scbevers@comcast.net

Stan Bevers

I want to order a copy of the marriage and in my notes I do not have the state where they married.
Susan may have been married before to a Humphry/Humphrey but I have not located that either--she and Richard had a child- Alice Humphrey- age 1 living with them in the 1860 Census in Greene County, Indiana. She was not with them in the 1870 Census in Sullivan County, Indiana so she probably married before then or died.
If I had a print out of your information reference Baber-Butler I could just check it and add the recent information for you and mail it back to you.
I have not been on your site for a long time---tell me step by step how to get on, please!
Marie Edgar----edmonde@centurytel.net

My great aunt Anne Frances Driver married Francis George Baber and emigrated to US in 1906. They had three children at least Francis George, Edmund and Fanny. There was also one grandson I know about Frederick J Selridge who was living with them in Bass River Burlington NJ at the 1920 census. Are there any descendants out there?
Jerry NELSON / Gary Wayne BABER

I am looking for any information on the whereabouts of Mr. Jerry Nelson, born in Nelson county on December 10, 1955 as Gary Wayne Baber.

He is believed to be a son of Mr. Herbert M. Baber and Evelyne Pauline Campbell.

Only a few years ago, Jerry Nelson worked as program-director of the Alpha Center in Milledgeville-Georgia. However, the Center doesn't seem to exist anymore. Probably Mr. Nelson works in a garage in Georgia nowadays, although I am not absolutely sure about that.

I'd like to share some information with Mr. Nelson/Baber regarding his biological father, in which he might be interested.

Leeuwarden, The Netherlands,

Alexander Tuinhout
a.tuinhout1@chello.nl

Has anyone the right address or e-mail address of Mr. Jerry Nelson, born in Nelson County in 1955 as Gary Wayne Baber? The e-mail address janelson@alltel.net, mentioned in his message on this board from February 10, 2001, seems to be invalid.

As a historian and municipality archivist by profession, I have some information in which Mr. Nelson might be interested, regarding a plane-crash in the northern Netherlands in which his father Herbert M. Baber was involved.

I hope to hear from you!

Regards,

Alexander Tuinhout,
E-mail: a.tuinhout1@chello.nl

He married Xenia Juanita WOODMAN and they raised a family of four daughters and three sons in Oklahoma City. Does anyone recognize any of this? I'd love to share notes.
