Perhaps a simplistic question

I seem to have found all the names and dates I'm looking for--I've finally made the leap that allowed me to trace my line all the way back to Antoine Babin.

But what I'm wondering--and haven't been able to find--is who he was. Any Google searches only bring up other trees and descendancy information. I'm looking for information on his occupation (and any of his descendants), his role in the colony, etc. About all I've found is that 24 Babins signed the Oath of Allegiance in 1730. This is the kind of information I'm looking for--the history side of things.

Anybody know where I can find this?

Thanks.

Karen Babine
