Hello Sue,
(I hope you're still able to see this response after your original posting so many years ago!)
I have records of a George Babjak (or Babyak) and Maria Gula living in Crucible in the early 20th century; they appear in the records of the Byzantine/Greek Catholic churches in New Salem (St. Mary's) and Brownsville (St. Nicholas) -- could they be your ancestors?
I was doing research on George's wife Maria Gula who was born in Krajna Bystra, Saros County (today northeastern Slovakia, north of Svidnik) trying to track down her burial place along with all other immigrant natives of Krajna Bystra & the neighboring villages. I did not find her & George's tombstone in St. Mary's RC Cemetery in Crucible. George Babjak was born in Jurkova Vola, also in the Svidnik district. Anyway, if you know of these people, and know where they are buried, I'd be interested to know. Thanks.
