Hello Mark,
The death info I have is not specific. In my database, I only have "died before 1879" which I based on a marriage record of his son, Pedro. Vo. 1, p. 178, Entry 3. 25 Dec 1879. Pedro SANDOVAL from Mora County, NM, widower of Dolores CORDOVA, s/ Jose Sandoval (def) and Maria Asencion ESPINOZA m. Antonia MARTIN from Mora County, NM, resident of Trinidad, widow of Naboris ? BLEA, d/ Jos. Trin.? MARTIN (def) and Gregoria CORDOVA. Padrinos: Joseph Raphaela RUIVAL & Maria Encarnacion SEGURA.

Other information that I have on Benito is from Charlene Garcia Simms' booklet, "El Pueblo, 1854Christmas Tragedy." I must not have found Benito's death date in that booklet because I think I would have entered it at the time.
You can write Charlene at charlenegsimms@yahoo.com and ask if she knows. She is very knowledgeable about the El Pueblo event.

Let me know what you learn.

Sincerely, Gloria Cordova
Hi,
I am related to Alivna/Albina/Albinita Sandoval who was a daughter of Felix Sandoval and Isabel Molina. Felix's father was Jose Benito Sandoval (1815-1854). Felix was kidnapped by Ute Indians and kept him for about 8-10 months and his younger brother, Juan Isidora also was kidnapped and was a captive for almost 7 years. I am little confuused about Jose Benito's death year. I thought he was killed and died in El Pueblo on the eve of Christmas in 1854, not died in 1881? Correct?

Mark

I'm a Batcho. I am the great grandson of Stephen Batcho (b1889) who lived with Paul and Mary Batcho (his uncle) when he immigrated here. It was not for a further 8 years until his wife Susanna was able to come over in 1921. You can see on the 1920 Census record that he is living with Paul and Mary.

If you'd like to get in touch with me on here do so or take a look at my public tree.

Thank you so much for responding to my posting....however, the Zuzi Rosipajla I was seeking information about - Rosipajla was her married name so it looks like there is not a direct connection. I have no roots connection to Bacha. The reason it is so hard to find info is that the name was spelled various ways - due mostly to language barriers and lax census takers. In looking for my Rosipajla roots - I am very surprised to find the correct spelling survived in spite of all the barriers - which is the way I have it spelled here. This line of Rosipajla came from the village of Hriadky, Slovakia (also known as Gerenda - as government rule changed in these countries, they also changed the name of towns and villages. In the late 1800's they were under Hungarian rule and forced to speak Hungarian....thus you will find on census records and ship manifests Hungary/Austria, etc. references. I understand that census records in those countries are in the process of being redone and sent to origin communities. It is very complex...
This family line settles in Phoenixville, PA....Homestead, PA, Braddock and North Braddock, PA for the most part.

Isn't seaching for your roots fun!!?? Thanks again...if you think I might be able to help you please feel free to ask....and if at all possible - I will do my best!
Best regards,
Rita

My husband great grandmother was Suzanne Roszipajla born in Slovakia and married George Baca(Bacsa) but did not come to this country. They had a son Joseph Bacha (Bacsa) born in Slovakia 3/1/1830. Joseph came to USA and married Anna Seba born 10/13/1871. Joseph and Anna got married in Plymouth, Pa. and moved to Braddock.Pa. Susan Bacha, grand daughter of Suzanne Roszipajla was born in Braddock on 12/31/1896. That is my husbands mother. Don't know if any of this will help but we have no information of other Roszipajla's in this country.
Marjorie

MY Rosipajla connection:

Anna Rosipajla married Stephen Gmitro - in phoenixville, pennsylvania. They moved to Homestead Pennsylvania *(suburb of Pittsburgh) Their son (my grandfather) Michael Gmitro was born in 1904. (NOTE*** my grandfather legally changed his name from Michael Gmitro to George Peterson in 1942). They also had a son named George (born in 1893), John (born in 1898), Stephen (born in 1902 & Frank (born in 1905) and daughters named Julia (born 1894) and Mary. Still looking for a little bit more on Mary.

After waiting patiently for many many years in the hopes of finding a Gmitro and a Rosipajla family member that could help in this growing tree.. i was able to meet up with Bob Rosipajla. and then just last week, my grandfathers neice, who is nearly 80 years old, shared with me that her grandparents Stephen and Anna Gmitro are buried up in Crossingville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. They had to move up there into the country, because Anna was told by her doctor to get out of the city (due to her being sickly). so they left the pittsburgh area and moved to Crossingville where Anna died.

Their grave memorial can be found on www.findagrave.com and their memorial numbers are
Stephen Gmitro Find A Grave Memorial# 29877193
Anna Rosipajla Gmitrow Find A Grave Memorial# 29877191

At first it didnt make sense as to why Stephen and Anna would spend their entire lives in the pittsburgh area and then be buried in Crawford County, but now, since I talked to my grandfathers neice, Frances, it all came into view.

And I have been able to add their children and Stephens second wife, on findagrave (all the links are there)

What agreat miracle and blessing this ancestry.com is as well as Findagrave.com..

i wouldnt have runned into Bob Rosipajla and I wouldnt have runned into Frances Gmitro (daughter of Stephen Gmitro Jr.)

love
odielion

Hello. WOW, this is amazing to hear this. My uncle and I have been searching here and there. My grandparents, Mary & George lived in Braddock PA and came from Secove (?) in Czech. I remember a uncle Mike, but cannot put who is who together. I would love to see Zuzi's tomestone if you can send pictures. My address is srosipayla @ officetransitions.net, i'm not sure if they allow you to send emails through this site but i gave it a shot. I would love to hear more. Also I would love to hear about your grandmother and see how they are all connected. Let me know if the email works :) Suzanne

PS. My father decided to change the "J" to a "Y", he thought it would be easier to pronounce

Re: ROSENDO BACA 1895-1984 CLOVIS, NEW MEXICO

Matthew:
That would be very difficult to determine unless we can establish common relatives and a time frame to begin looking back.

Have you noted any of the same relatives in your family history as those I previously posted? Also, starting with providing your age would also be helpful.

I'm 61 years old, so if you are about the same age we can look for common cousins, uncles, aunts, etc. If you are much younger, you would need to provide names and ages of some of your relatives that would provide valuable clues.

Hope that helps in beginning the process of answering the question of common ancestry.
