I have a photo of Joseph and his family that was taken about 1900 to celebrate the new century, and sent to his sister Jane in England. The photo is here http://www.okusgoldens.com/bachelors.htm
Jane was my grandmother's mother. Her married name was Stather, and my Grandmother's married name was Martha Kellington.
Jane and Joseph's parents were also called Joseph and Jane, and there were 2 other surviving girls Ann and Fanny.
Joseph senior lived to be 83. He was born on 25 August 1799 in Marsh Chapel in Lincolnshire and after he and Jane (Blow) married they lived in a tiny village called Little Grimsby, not far from Louth, also in Lincolnshire. Apart from the manor house and the church there was one farm and about 10 cottages in total in the village. Joseph senior was Church Warden and worked on the farm.
Jane senior died when Joseph junior was only 4.
Joseph junior met and married Louisa Bond after he emmigrated to Canada They appear to have had quite a large family, there are 13 children in the photograph.
If I can tell you any more please ask.
