I am a great grandson of Petrus A. Backlund. He had a brother named Jonas Oskar (J.O.). I believe that we are talking about the same people. I have a copy of a family tree that J.O. had done which I received from his daughter before she passed away in the 1990's. There are no other decendants in his line. I would like to get a reply back from you.

Petrus and Jonas are not of my line but they are in the family of Al Caulkins...who's last address was ACaulkins@excite.com...or you can try on Rootsweb and when you find the Backlund message board find Al's name and when you click on author it will give you his current email address. My Nils Backlund only had one brother...Lars Magnus. good luck in your search.

You contacted me almost two years ago and told me your great grandfather was Nils Eric, twin brother to Anders Olof Backlund. Have you come into possession of some new data that negates the previous information.

Sorry I haven't written....just moved in this weekend to a new house.
About 8 months ago I came across info that Nils Backlund was the son of Margareta Nilsdotter and Jon Nils Parsson of Visterud Ostra Amtervik. My Nils full name was Nils Nilssson Backlund and his siblings were Anna, Katrina, Maria and Lars Magnus..who was later called Rev Lewis M Nilsson Backlund of Greene Co Missouri. As more info came available my mother and her siblings verified and then I found a paper trail that confirms all of the info. It was nice having your wife as a cousin...and I'm sure that somewhere down the line we are related. If I find the link I will get in touch.
