I'm trying to find out information on my great-grandmother. My grandfather, John Granger, was given up for adoption when he was a young child, maybe as a toddler. He was born in Hammond, Indiana on 3/21/1923. His mother's name is listed on his birth certificate as Edith Backlund, and his father's name was William Granger (his father's middle name may have been Marshall). Edith may have gone to Chicago after my grandfather was born. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks!
