Mary is my grandmother - just following up trying to pick up where she left off. Does anyone have any information on this part of the Badami family?

Other information I know...Giacomo (my ggf) came over with his mother Maria Votera or Maniscalco and did not know his father Luciano until 10-15 years later.

I have a ship manifest that shows Giacomo & Maria leaving Italy for Spain, but I lose them there. Luciano's history is much more of a mystery to us.

Here is an excerpt from a story my grandmother told me:

Maria came to America with three boys, Jim, John and Giacomo. She left Mr. Maniscalco in Sicily and came to the United States looking for Luciano Badami. She married Luca Vangalio, he had a daughter Rose. (Rose married Jim Roselli.) The two older Maniscalco boys retained their own name but Giacomo took the name of Vangalio and believed that Luca was his father. When he was seventeen years old he was told that his father was Luciano Badami. Giacomo went to New York City to meet his father. They became father and son. The relationship became very close. Luciano moved to Virginia and Giacomo spent time with his father in Virginia during the planting and harvesting season. Luciano later moved to Savannah, GA and opened a fish market. He was living in Georgia when he died. Giacomo (Jake) served in World War I, serving in France, he was an ambulance driver.

As told by Mary Badami Montemarano, Giacomo's daughter

Any information would be appreciated!
