Hello,

I have a slightly different inquiry about Brandt Badger. When researching my family I came across my Grandfather's military records and he noted Gonzales as his birthplace. This led me to believe that the Badgers most likely owned his family at some point and that is how our last name came about. I havent been able to come across any information but wouldnt be surprise if there was some blood relation as it was common practice to take up with slaves.

My Father knows very little about my Grandfather so I hope to be able to take a trip to do Gonzales this summer when I visit them so he can see the town his Father came from in his lifetime.

Ironically my Mother's family now resides in San Angelo (no relation to the Badgers of course). I found it interesting that there was quite a few Brandt Badgers in the city of San Angelo when I was doing my own research.

Any information anyone has that they might want to share would be appreciated.
