My maternal grandfather, Alert Baer, came to the U.S. in Sept. 1907 from Switzerland. His last name was spelled Bar with two dots or accent marks (not sure what they are properly called) over the "a"...it was changed when he got here. He immigrated into the port of Seattle.
His father was Albert Bar (born May 1857; died March 1937) and lived in Switzerland. His mother was named Anna Bader Bar (born May 1861, died Sept 1927, in Switzerland). I have nothing beyond that.
