This is an old post, but I thought if you are still interested, we might share information. Bernita Beatrice Bafford is my grandmother. I do not have a paid account at this time, but would be interested in sharing information.
Thank you,
Rudy

Elizabeth Stafford b. 1830 in MD, d. 1878 in OH

I am searching for any information on Elizabeth Bafford, born April 26, 1830 in (Baltimore?) Maryland and died July 4, 1878 in Middlebourne, OH. She married Nicholas Hook(e?) in 1850 and had a son, John Paul Hook in 1853. Nicholas died before 1855 and Elizabeth married David Long (1830-1899) and had multiple children. My father's line stops at Elizabeth Bafford and goes no further. We are looking for John Paul (Hook) Long's real father's (Nicholas) and mother's information. I can't find any legal documents online after her marriage to Nicholas Hook. I found Nicholas Hook's passenger log from when he immigrated to the US in 1847. He was born in 1825 in Germany. Just their parents' names would help!

Charles and Cora Bafford were married in Lawrence KS. Charles went to work setting up telegraph cable west. They lived in Rawhide NV. where my Grandmother Myrtle Bafford was born along with her twin sister Thelma Bafford. The moved to Fallon some time after that. Grams is in a nursing home in Carson City, and I currenlty live in Kansas. I have found several Bafford family lines that come from Kansas, but as of yet, can not find the right one. If Charles and Cora are yoyr greatgrandparents, then we are related. Are you by chance Aunt Dutch ar Aunt Ethals child?

Hi I was reading the message boards and you mentioned that you are related to charles and cora bafford. My sister is a great granddaughter of charles and cora and granddaughter of Ethel Rose Bafford. She would be an older sister to the twins. I also found them in the 1930 census and Ethel Bafford (Ferguson)appeared to be living right next door to her parents. You mentioned that you have pictures. Are they just of your grandmother or of her family too? Any information you have would be helpful. Thanks, Lillian Cochran

Hi Eric:
Good to hear from you again. My youngest daughest and I are planning to leave this afternoon (6pm)for Okolona/Egypt, may be around midnight before we get in. My daughter will be staying with her cousin in Egypt (the Gettis/Ware family), I will be staying with mom and your aunt Pearl in Okolona. I just printed out your email and phone number, hope to get to see you or at the least talk with you before we leave on Saturday. I know what you mean about missing out on family members, but you know we tend to put off seeing one another until death takes one of us. It shouldn't be this way. Maybe we can sit down and look at some of the old pictures at your gradnmother Amy house, it want make up for the years you've lost with us but at least you can see a little or part of what your Bafford family was like. Take care, hopefully we'll get to see one another this week.

You can email me direct at: jnbford@yahoo.com OR jnbford@peoplepc.com

Love ,
Joe Nathan

I can't express to you what Im feeling right now because it's been at lest thirteen years now since I have been in any concact with you and I had no idea where you were and things of that nature. :) Beleive it or not i'm so happy that I am in tears because I feel so deprived from you and not only but the Bafford family as a whole and all I want to do is to know everyone (ya know). LOL.... Everyone that I see which is every blue moon keep telling me that I look just like Nate. I dsmile and say really because I can honestly say that i don't kow what you look like. That bothers me. I never got really close to Uncle George and he's gone now so in a nuttshell I don't want to lose anyone else without at least keeping in touch or saying hello once a year ya know. Anyways, I can't talk right now my words for now are at a lost. Please I would love to see you when you get home. Let me know so that I can be there. My number is 843 322-9835. Please feel free to call at anytime and I can't wait to hear from you. Until then, Love You. Your nephew Eric.

Hello Eric:
It's been a long time since I've seen you, matter of fact you were probably eight or so when I saw you at mom's house (your grand mother Amy in Okolona). You probably don't remember me but I am your father's younger brother, Joe Nathan. I was in Egypt Thanksgiving week visiting the Ware/Gettis family, I didn't know you lived there. Anyway, hope to keep in contact with you. I plan to be in Okolona later this week, maybe we can get together at mom's house. My family and I live in Cleveland Tennessee, so we're about 330 miles away from Okolona. Merry Christmas and hope all is well with you and your family.

Joe

Hi again. I went through my FTM stuff. I
have many unanswered questions. I have a
JOSEPH CLINTON BAFFORD in my files, but he
died abt 1891 in (I think) Calvert Co.
All I know is my grandpa's sister, JOSEPHINE
VIRGINIA MCVOY born abt 1880 married an
EDDIE BAFFORD. I am not positive and learned
this from another cousin, but he was said
to have taken his life. I am not positive,
but think he "may" have been brother of
JOHN PARRAN BAFFORD who married into our
COCHRAN(E) line in CALVERT CO. JOSEPHINE
MCVOY'S mom was from this COCHRAN(e) family.
My email is: gatreon@vnet.net

Bonnie, thanks for your interest. We do not know where J.Cephus Bafford was born, only that it was he lived somewhere near Baltimore and was in his twenties when he died of TB. abt 1927-28.> He had married my aunt about 6 months before his death, Louise Smith from Johnstown, Pa. where both were active in the work of the Salvation Army, he played a horn of some type. She gave him the bible we have 12-25-23.They married in 1927, no children. He had no brothers but did have 2 sisters, Doris and Julia. Since we are decendants of L. Smith (Bafford)we were given his bible at her death in the 90's. We know that somewhere there is family of his that would like to have it. It has a picture of an middle aged lady applied to the front page, we believe this to be his mother. We have just learned that he was probably buried at Solomons or Solomons Island, Md. Any information we received is from Louise's sister, Frances who is my mother and 87 yrs old and in failing health. If anything connecys with your information please advise. Thank You, R. Smith

Hi Carmen. My grandpa McVoy had a sister
named Josephine McVoy who married an
EDW.BAFFORD who lived in BALTO.MD around
1900. There WAS a THELMA BAFFORD in this
family and I have an old picture somewhere.
Several BAFFORDS intermarried into my
COCHRAN and FOWLER families of CALVERT CO
MD and some moved to BALTO. Perhaps some of
these are yours who later moved West.
Bafford isn't that common is it? I also
have BASSFORD and BASFORD in my family.
(Also in MD) Bonnie McVoy Treon
mailto:gatreon@vnet.net
