You mention Charles H. Lewis. There was a Charles H. Lewis in the home of my ancestor Thomas Reed in Boyle County Kentucky listed in the 1850 census. Charles was listed as a student age 19. Was your Charles H. Lewis by any chance a lawyer? Thomas Reeds youngest brother Preston Brown Reed lived with them as a young teen and it is reported this is where he received his legal training.
