I am researching my husband's Bagby family of Appomattox Co. (Clover Hill), Virginia. My husband descends from Mary Frances "Fannie" Bagby and Pleasant Andrew Turnes. Fannie's parents were David M. Bagby b. abt. 1820 in VA and Jane C. Matthews who were married Sept. 20, 1844 in Prince Edward Co., Virginia. They are found on the Appomattox Co. census reports throughout the years. Their children were Mary Frances, Louisa Jane, and John Lee. In 1860 David's mother, Elizabeth b. abt. 1779, was living with them. This is all the information I have been able to find. Do you have any idea who David M.'s ancestors might be? I would deeply appreciate any help you can give me.
