Fred
Thanks for all the Bagnall info you have provided on this thread, without it I wouldn't have been able to finally piece togther my link to the Bagnalls of Winlaton.
I hope the following is of help to any that are interested.
The missing sister Sarah Bagnall did survive and married in 1841:
21 December 1841 St John, Newcastle Upon Tyne
William Hunter, father Thomas Hunter, house carpenter
Sarah Bagnall, father Joshua Bagnall, smith
Both Sarah and William are describe as full age and of this parish. Neither father is described as deceased.
William and Sarah will therefore be the witnesses to the marriage of Gilbert and Barbara in 1847.
Isabella also appears in the 1851 census at the home of William and Sarah at Pit Row, Chirton
In the census records up to 1881 Sarah is always recorded as being born in Winlaton but with various birth dates of 1822, 1823 and 1825. So far I haven't confirmed her whereabouts in the 1841 census.
