I am Bob Theisen, son of Esther Bahe Theisen. She was the sister of Arthur Bahe. we were all raised in St Cloud. We visited your mom and dad often when both families were living in N. D. Karen, Kathy and David were a few years younger than my brother Richard and me. I have been looking for but not able to find information on your family. I do have some info on Clarence, Maurice (Bud), Marvin, Ralph and Leora. It is on the Bahe/Steege Family Tree

bob theisen

In respond to your post regarding Dorothy Margaret Bahe Graham, (1921-1991). I am her third daughter born May 28, 1950 in N.D.
She did not remarry in 1966. She was married to my father James Elisha Graham until his death in 1984. I remember seeing your name on some pictures or a Post card. I don't have any information about my grandfather Arthur Bahe or Grandmother Margaret. Do you have anything that you could send me. I know my children would love to know more about their heritage I have one daughter Dawn and one son James named after his Grandfather.
As you can see I was named after both Great Grandmothers and both Grandmothers.
Hope this information is helpful.

I have very complete information on my uncle Art Bahe and his family. I am looking for Dorothy Bahe Graham (1921-1991). There is a posting on ancestry of a Dorothy Graham re-marrying in 1966. I do not believe it is the same Dorothy, but would like to verify. See Bahe/Steege family tree. We visited Dorothy and Jim's family in North Dakota in 1949 and 50

bob theisen
Just an added note:

Besides the meaning of a color, "Bahe" in the old days during times when the natives raided on each other, the name were of Dineh woman's name.
It meant something like an expression of a "warrior" and to add to the confusion it’s also means, the Dineh living in the Zuni and Pueblo region, hence the name means "Bread maker".

As in all old things, the languages and its meaning are fading with time.

I would to like to know more about the name "Bahe" also.

As in all old things, the lanuages and its meaning are fading with time.

the name BAHE was given to certain Navajo Indains in the early 1900's and later by the white man. they have no meaning to us, except its just a name that was assign to us.
i asked my father and he don't know. he says it was assigned to his father and so forth down the generation. appreantly it's just name. there are others names like (Nez-means Tall in Navajo),(Yazzie-means Small) so these name were just made as close as what it sound like to the white man and they just translate them into names.

Hi BAHE researchers. Does anybody know of the origin of the surname BAHE? Is it French, German or what. What does BAHE mean? And is it pronounced like "Bah". I have no BAHE in my research, but I have a friend whose name is BAHE and she pronounces it like Bah as in "Bah Hum Bug". I told her I would check around and see if I can find out some info on the surname. Thanks for your time. Bob Hoy

I have found Christian in a log of passengers. Do you have any others with this surname about the same time as Christian? I think there may be others that my grandfather and great-grandfather are descended from.
