I have a Jacob Baier in Salem Co., NJ, in 1860. He is 32, a carpenter, b Wurttemberg, Germany, living with wife Mary aged 25, b Wurttemberg, daughter Mary 5, b NY, son John 1, b NJ.
By 1870 Jacob's name is spelled Byers, he's living in Lycoming Co., PA, aged 40, Carpenter, b Wurttemberg, wife Rosa aged 29, b Wurttemberg, son John 11, dau Caroline 7, dau Emma 4, son Frank 1 (all born NJ).
Does anyone know anything about this Jacob? When did he come to NJ and where did he go next? How many other children?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Sally
