Bales/Bailes of Pennsylvania and Connecticut

Hello,

I'm tracing the line of James H. Bales/Bailes b. about 1830-1841 of England. He emmigrated to the United States about 1850 living first in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then later in the Hartford, Connecticut area. He was married first to a woman named Mary who was b. about 1836 Pennsylvania and died before 1877. James and Mary had the following children:

Emma b. 1863 md. ? Beard, their children were Emma and Walter.

Frank H. b.1867 md. Mary, their children Catherine, Frank and Harold.

Annie b. 1873 md Samuel Messick, their children were Samuel, Martha, Laura and Albert (this is my line, Martha being my grandmother)

James then married Catharine (surname could be Morrow)b. 1857 in Delaware. James and Catharine had the following children:

James Henry Bailes b. 1883 md. Jemima b.1888, their children were Eleanor and Jean.

Laura b. 1878

Amelia b. 1879 md. ? Cannon, their children were Raymond and william.

Mary b. 1877

If any of this line is familiar to you I would love to hear from you. I would especially like to find out what part of England James came from as I now live in England (I'm from Pennsylvania.)

Any help would be most welcome.

Anna
He left Virginia and briefly returned to his parent's home in Greene County, Tennessee. He left there and settled in either Alabama or Mississippi. He was still living during the early 1920s. He had sons named Sherdon and William and daughters Frances (my grandmother) and Effie.

Seeking info on Joseph Balus/Bailes/Bayless of KY. Sallie Balus joined Mill Creek Church
in 1801, and Joseph (possibly) at the same time, but he left the church in 1804. Also listed as a member, John Balus joined pre1798. He could have possibly migrated from
AL>TN>KY. Joseph is listed on the 1810 Census
for Barren Co., KY. Sallie may have been his
wife. Any help withthis would be greatly
appreciated.

Charles
