Pete Bailey, 80, of South Charleston Rt. 7, died late
yesterday in a South Charleston hospital after a
three-month illness. Mr. Bailey was a lifelong
resident of Kanawha County and was a retired employee
of Carbide's South Charleston plant. He was a member
of the Ohio Street Church of God in Spring HIll.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; seven daughters,
Mrs. Clarence Taylor, Mrs. Roy Plantz, Mrs. Hubert
Elkins, Mrs. Thurman Crihfield and Mrs. Charles George
of South Charleston, Mrs. Daisy Baker of Hurricane and
Mrs. Louise Peal of Charleston; three sons, Ray,
Theodore and Willard of South Charleston; one brother,
John of Charleston; 26 grandchildren and 17
great-grandchildren. The body is at Degnan Funeral
Home in South Charleston.
