Walter H. Bailey, 81, died at 10:55 p.m. Thursday (April 30) in Greenbrier Lodge, Piper City.
His funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. in the Culkin Memorial Home. The Rev. Jack Holloway officiated and burial was in Chatsworth Cemetery.
He was born March 6, 1892, at Edwardsville, a son of George and Anna Habada Bailey. He married Dora Pry, July 11, 1911 at Swinton, Mo. She died Dec. 7, 1963. He married Mollie Looney, Oct. 17, 1966, at Poplar Bluffs, Mo. She died Aug. 1, 1972. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Perkins, Cullom; Mrs. Jessie Evans , Holder; Mrs. Ruby Loos, Poplar Bluffs, Mo.; Mrs. Katie Bartley, Cornell; a brother, Willard Bailey, Poplar Bluffs, Mo.; five grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson.
Pallbearers were Delmar Ford, John Thorndyke, William Ford, Marion Diemer, Denton Dubree and Harry Freeland.
