Curious about this Bain line. I think a nephew raised by the Allans, was from the line. He was born James Gibson Bain, 17 Apr 1904 in Canada. His mother was Mary Ramsay of Caledonia, Haldimand County, Ontario, and father, also James Gibson Bain, b. 21 Feb 1899 in Caledonia. When his mother passed soon after his birth, he was taken to his aunt Esther Ramsay to live with her and her family, husband was Daniel Allan. He then seems to have used the first name of Allan.

Sure seems like he would be of this Bain line. Would like to learn more. Also what was the rebellion of 1837 to which you refer?
