Had a brother named Wesley perhaps another brother Leslie. Found a Catherine married to a Samuel in 1880 census with sons Benjamin and Simon. Any help is appreciated.

William H. Bair (26 Oct 1836 - 24 Nov 1905)married Agnes N Coons, 1 Mar 1860, Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church, Spring Run, Fannett Twp, Franklin CO, PA. William was the son of Jonas Bair (c1798 PA - 29 Jan 1874 Fannett, Franklin) and Mary McCartney (31 Mar 1812 Fannett- 25 Sep 1884 Fannett) Both Jonas and Mary are buried in the Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Cemetery in Spring Run. I have quite a bit more on the family of Mary McCartney, but have not been able to determine the parents of Jonas. Have gone thru some, but not all the Bair deeds at the court house. Here are some clues [note - you may also want to read the notes under Samuel Bair of Fannett Twp.]

Jonas and Mary and most of their children are buried at Upper Path Valley Cemetery, Spring Run,, Franklin Co. The records of Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church are cut/did not photocopy along the right side, so some dates are missing.
Jonas MAY be a son of the John Bair who was living in Fannett Twp, in 1820. No proof yet, but Jonas' and Mary's second son was named for Mary's father, so Jonas' firt son John, MAY have been named for Jonas' father.

Abraham Bair was also my g-grandfather. So far, as far as I know, we have not had any luck in tracing my g-g grandfather, Jonathon Bair.

My dad spoke many times about his Uncle Sandy whom I do not ever remember meeting. Good luck as you continue searching.

I'm looking for a lost link to Henry Bair B-1818 in PA (Possibly Mt. Pleasent, PA). He married Philena Cortright in 1842 in Blackfort Indiana. Prior to this he was living in Guernsey Ohio. I beleive he had a relative Samuel S Bair from PA.

Abraham Bair and Anna Hoover were my gg-grandparents. Do you know if Anna was his only wife??? And what were his children names??

His son Abraham b-1824 d-1895 in Beckley, Raleigh, WV list his wife as Mary E. Bair. Do you have any info on this?? After Abraham's death she remarried a Andrew Jackson Carper. If I have this lineage right, the first Abraham's parents were John and Anna Maria Thomas, John's parents:George and Mary M. Kimball, George's parents: Henry Bar and Barbara Witmer. Henry's parents: Hans Bar and Barbara Hauser. HIs first wife was Verena Huber. My lineage is from Barbara H auser. Hans parents: Hans Bar and Verena Huber. Hans parents: Lorenz Bar and Anna Strehler. Lorenz parents: Hans Bar and Kathrina Huber. Do these names fit in with your lineage??????

An Ancestry tree has a 1st child, Rufus Bookhardt, who died in infancy, and two husbands for Daisy Belle Bookhardt: George Blackmon and Vernon Wachter. This tree says Tommie, Jr., died in 1903; his father d. in 1900. Sad life for Linnie.

John D. Bair, seventy-six, Blue Ball, died at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday at his home from a cerebral hemorrhage following an illness of several weeks. He was a retired cattle dealer, and at one time was proprietor of the Blue Ball sales barns. He was a son of the late Elias and Elizabeth Bair, of Leacock Township, and was a member of the Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church.
Besides his wife, Sarah R. Eckert Bair, there survive the following children: Raymond K. Bair, Leola; Mary, wife of Herbert Mentzer, Kinzer RD; Sarah, wife of Martin Weaver, Narvon RD; Miss Lena E. Looking for information about my grandfather Chester A. Bair-from Williamsport PA. Lived near or on Cemetery Hill. Married Carrie Moore from Williamstown WVA.
I think my grandfather's mother may have been Elizabeth Mann- supposedly from Ireland with green eyes (which I have)and red hair.
He died when I was young- in the 1960's at about the age of 82.

Any information would be thankfully received. My aunt who knows a bit of the history is quite ill and unable to help.

I wish to correspond with the family of Thomas Bair I, who was born in Madison County, Arkansas. Son of Hugh Bare (Ohio) and Margaret Jane McChristian. I descend from Margarets brother, Robert Monroe McChristian. It appears that the name McChristian used to be McCuistion. Thomas Bair I came to California with his uncle Hill Daugherty in the mid 1800's. Hill Carter was married to Catherine Tennant McCuistion. Since Thomas was a nephew to Hill and Catherine, that would make Catherine and Margaret sisters. I wish any information from those who have more history regarding this. I have a Samuel Bair 1835-aft 1910, but no knowledge of Civil War service. He was from Washington Co MD (through 1860) and moved to IL by 1880. If the 208th was from Franklin Co, he _might_ be you man.

Two Killed, 2 Hurt As Shipyard Crane Falls

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov.12 -(AP)-

A huge shipbuilding crane at the Western Pipe and
Steel Co. plant capsized Tuesday, killing two men
and injuring two others.

Batholomew Zoltezzi, 48 years old, who had just
attached the crane cable was crushed as the
ponderous crane lurched away form the side of a
ship being built at the South San Francisco yard.

Raymond Schaffer, 31, a crane operator, died after
he was taken to a hospital. Injured were Colin Bair,
40, and Daniel V Friel, 45.

Look up C. Herbert Fry's "Berwyn Village Walk" online. Section 12 is about "Hillcrest," which was owned by Oliver Bair, and occupied year-round in the 1950s by his daughter, Mary Bair. I do believe Mary remained unmarried, as this document suggests. Indeed, my mother insists that she was "MISS" Bair. Probably not the same Mary as your great grandmother, but see for yourself.

I am visiting my octogenarian parents and hear differing stories about the Bair estate. My father says that yes, it was called Hillcrest, but my mother isn't so sure. HOWEVER, I can confirm via an internet search that the house pictured on my travel blog was owned by Mary Bair.
