One more thing about Surname DNA testing. A female Baird's son cannot test for the Baird line. There must be at least 3 generations of males; Baird male, son of Baird male, son of son of Baird male. Even though I have three sons, none of them can test for any surname in my family. They CAN test for their father's surname however as they are at least five generations of the surname. (They cannot test for the paternal grandmother's line.) I rounded up first cousins and even first cousins a couple of times removed to test for other surnames in my side of the family other than Baird. Luckily I have a living brother who did Baird for us.
