Hi.. Thanks for all the Baird/Beard information that you have given me. You have more on this part of my family then I do, at present. The oldest ancestor that I have at this point is, John Baird, b. 1770, Pennsylvania, m. Mary Polly (Agnes) Nesbit. He was the f/o Thomas Nesbit Baird, b. 1813, Ohio, m.Mary Wade Vining. He f/o George White Baird, b.1841, Bloomington, Ill, m.Susan Russel McClure. He f/o William Edward Baird, b.1868, Delavan, Ill, m. Alice Ann Enlow. He f/o Louise Grace Baird, b. 1899, Freeport, Kansas, m. Alexander Hodge Pegram, b.1887, Charlotte, NC. She m/o Edward Hodge Pegram, b. 1918, Pleasant Hill, MO. You can trace my Bairds the migration route that you mentioned in Leonard Porter's book. Do you know more about the original ancestor that I have mentioned, John, b. 1770? Do you know his ancestor, and who was original ancestor in this family from Ireland? This lineage got to NC through Louise Grace Baird who married my grandfather, Alexander Hodge Pegram. I still have Pegram relatives in York, SC, and Mecklenburg, NC, living today. I don't believe that anyother Baird's are direct kin to me in SC, at least at this point.
