Formerly of Windsor, CT, Ms. Bakas died Friday, January 20, 2006. She was born December 28, 1947 to Mary (Cezus) Bakas, and the late John Bakas. She resided in Fairfax for the past 28 years and was employed with the U.S. Dept. of State for more than 25 years, where she earned a Merit Award for the years 2001-05.
Survived by her mother; brother, Robert J. Bakas and his wife Evelyn of Windsor, CT; two uncles, Joseph G. Cezus and his wife, Jean of Windsor and James Cezus and his wife, Dorothy of FL; a niece and nephew, Linda Gary of Enfield, CT and Robert Bakas of Bloomington, CT; a great-niece, Rachel Gary, and her longtime friend, Margaret "Peggy" Storrs of Windsor.
Funeral services will begin Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 9:15 a.m. from the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Gertrude Church, Matianuck Ave., Windsor. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Friends are invivted to visit the family today, Friday, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
