Daniel William Baker

I am desperately looking for information as to what became of my ancestor, Daniel William Baker (as listed on census of 1850). He lived in Tattnall county, was born in Georgia, married to Lourana Kicklighter. Census records differ on their exact ages, but he appears to have been born around 1828-1833. Problem is, he dropped off the census records after 1870. 1880 census still shows his wife as married, but he's not listed, and does not show up on any records that I can find after that. I can't find a death certificate or any other information. Can anyone help?

Thank you for replying to my inquiry. I have found my great great grandfather, John Baker's and great grandfather Charles H. Baker's tomb stones in Mountain Home Cemetery. I am stuck on tracing back beyond John Baker when the only information I have on John is that he was from New York. John's wife was Eveline Sarah Holt. I have had no luck in finding Eveline or Sarah Holt. Common names like his are very hard to trace and to make things harder I don't have a middle name or initial for John Baker. Anyone that might have information on John Baker or Eveline Sarah Holt who lived in Otsego, MI would be appreciated.

I am trying to locate my great-great grandparents who were from the Baden area. I am unsure of the spelling of the surname. John Baker was born about 1823. His wife, Catherine, last name unknown, was born about 1829. They had a son, John Baker, born January 16, 1857, and a daughter Catherine, born between 1859 and 1861. I don't know the year they left Germany, but it was after the daughter's birth. They show up in Crawford County, Indiana,
in the 1880 census.
A grandson of the younger John Baker said he thought they came from Storchhof, but I cannot get any information from there or about the place.
I sure would appreciate any help anyone could give. Thanks.

Baker of Tyronne, Pa., but I can't prove this. Would this line go back to the immigrant John of 1727? Where did the immigant brothers Henry and Jacob settle?

I am researching James S. Baker, b. 1868 in Pa., who married Mary L., b. 1868 in Pa. They had three children: Urgie, Ethel, and Murray. I have the genealogy forward, but not the ancestors. Who are the parents of James and of Mary?James and Mary lived in Altoona, Pa. at least from 1900. James may have been from Tyronne near Altoona.

hi, i just happened to stumble on your posting. i grew up in independence and the names you mentioned look familiar. as a kid i lived on a quiet street that was backed by woods, railroad tracks and a slough type pond. there was one house nestled other side of the tracks near the slough. an older couple lived there that i knew only as mr and mrs baker. i am not certain, their names were pelchie and ed but it does sound familiar! i tried ringing my folks this morning to ask but no answer. what would you like to know... i can probably find out.

Hi: Hope you are still at this address. I recently found Callie D. Baker listed as daughter of BCK (?) Edwards in the 1870 census from Eutaw, Limestone County, Texas. I know this is our Callie because the other children were brothers of my grandmother, Martha Ella (Eller?) Edwards.
I know your grandfather was raised by relatives after his mother died shortly after he was born. What I don't know, is who raised him and what happened to his father. I know Jesse and Richard stayed with him after their mother died.
Mary Shellaby

My Dad was Bill Baker from Paintsville, Ky and I believe he is the Bill you are asking about. I even have pictures of his friends from his army days and there is a picture of several guys and one's name is Shep.

My Dad passed away from a heart attack in 2003. I was his only child

He married my Mom Terry Prater in 1966 and then they moved to Belleville MI where he worked and retired from Ford Motor Company. He eventually married Nancy Newberry and retired to a huge farm in Celine MI.

He was a very happy, caring, giving individual that I will miss always!

Frederick C S Baker India/England (1894-?)

Hi

I am trying to find out what happened to Frederick Clarence Scindia Baker, (a British citizen) born in Gwalior, Western Bengal on 20/08/1894. I know that he returned to England around 1896 but went back to India to join the Indian army during WWI. After the army it is known that he joined the Indian Police and was "Superintendant of Police, Indore State" during the 1920's. There is a record of him travelling to England in 1925 but nothing after that. So I cannot find any evidence of his existence in England or India after this date. Any help greatly appreciated

Mary Frances Baker's Family

I am looking for information regarding Myrtle Hewitt Clintsman's family--specifically on her mother's side (Mary Frances Baker). I have Mary's dates (1884-1951), married to William Webster Hewitt, and her parents' names--John Baker & Frances Swinning. Most of them lived in New York, Jefferson County. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
