Dorothy E. “Dodie” Balagna-Palmer, died Jan. 8, 2005, in Cañon City, CO. She was born June 17, 1928, in Cañon City, to James and Rita (Johnson) Balagna.

She married David Bruce Palmer June 17, 1950, in Denver.

Mrs. Palmer graduated from the St. Scholastica Academy in 1946. In 1949, she graduated with a registered nurse degree from St. Joseph’s Nursing School in Denver. She worked at Hildebrand Nursing Home until June of 2000.

She is survived by her children, Duncan Palmer, Kristin Jones, JoBeth Palmer, Jim Palmer, and Nancy Tarpey; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, James Balagna; and sisters, Helen Mackey and Jo Hodge.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and Bubbie Moriarity.

Cremation was handled by Wilson Crematory.
