Here is an old document. I got from my father. Wayne Edward Baldwin
Joseph Baldwin was born in 1785. He was born, and died in Jackson County, Alabama. He was married to Annie McConnell who was born in 1787 and she also died in Jackson County, Alabama. Together they had six children, four boys and two girls.
John Baldwin son of Joseph and Annie was born in 1818 and died in Woods County, Texas in 1884 leaving a family about whom we no nothing about. There is no record as to when Rosa Baldwin the first daughter but she was born in Texas and had no children. Augustus Baldwin born in 1826 died in South Texas, but we have no further information concerning him. Joseph Baldwin Jr. born in 1828 never married and died in the Civil War. Betty Ann Baldwin born 1832, Married Tinsley Weaver of Hopkins, Texas and her descendants are known to our family, as Jacob, born in 1824 on January 4th, in Madison County, was the progenitor of our branch of Baldwin’s. So little is known to me about the Baldwin family but it is on record that Joseph, father of Jacob dies in 1830 or 1831 near the Tennessee river in Jackson County. It must have been a horrible event, for he and his eldest son Isaac, froze to death on what was know as the “Cold Friday”.
Jacob Baldwin came to Texas, an orphan, with his uncle and located about one and one half miles east of Ladonia, being at that time thirteen years of age. Elizabeth Jane Fitzgerald was born in Louisiana and moved to Texas with her parents a short time after Jacob moved there. They settled on a farm
Near what is now Windom, Texas, in Fannin Countyy. These two young folk were married in this county October 31, 1850 and both died in Fannin County. They had prospered in both lands and children, being the parents of fourteen. Jacob was twenty six at the time of their marriage and Elizabeth was Jane was nineteen. Jacob outlived his wife by thirteen years; she died in 1893, August 28. He lived until February 4, 1906.
The fourteen children of this couple were all born approximately two years apart with the exception of Van Noy and Noah Elizabeth, who were four years apart.
William the oldest child was married and had five children, William, Mattie, Lizzie, Dora and George Harvey
Joe Grady and his wife Katherine had two children. Joseph and Wayne Edward Baldwin.
