Am helping a friend find info on her family. The Baldwin family branch I am looking for is from Bloomfield, N.J. Mary F. Baldwin married Theodore Simcox in the 1850s. Since the Baldwin family was in the U.S in the 1600s we feel it is on this side of the family we should be searching. The question is that my friend has always been told that there is American Indian on her father's side of the family. Since the Simcox family did not arrive in the U.S until the 1840s, we have not been able to find this to be true. The Baldwin side is wide open. My friend spoke to a cousin last night and she verified that this story was something she understood to be true also, but she does not have any info either. The marriage between either a Baldwin or a Simcox may have taken place in Pa. I know this is vague, but it is all that I know. If it helps any, there is a house in Bloomfield, N.J. that is named either the Baldwin House, or the Baldwin Simcox house....that is this family. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
