Re: John Baldy married Anna Trappen in Minnesota

If you have not yet gotten this information, Anna Trappen's parents were Bernard Trappen and Margaret Eischens. Margaret Eischens was born in Benedict, Scott County, MN and Bernard was born Union Hill, LeSueur Co., MN. They married May 29, 1894, in Benedict, MN and lived briefly in Union Hill, St. Peter and then Tintah, MN. I have a wedding photo of Bernard and Margaret Trappen and unidentified wedding photos that may well include John Baldy and Anna Trappen and others of Anna's sisters and brothers. If you can identify Trappens by photo, perhaps I could scan some of my "unidentifieds" to you?

Looking for any info on Anna's family. I know that her father was Christian Trappen, her mother's first name I believe to be Margaret. Anna was the 5th out of 7 children. Born about 1867, possibly in Union Hill, LeSueur County, Minnesota. Her oldest sister Elizabeth (Becker, Schilz) was my great-grandmother. Any info would be great!
Thanks
Mary

William, et. al.

I am sure that you have all these but I might be able to furnish a couple of clues.
I have William Gunn and Candace Conner in Decatur County, GA in the 1850 census with their children: David, age 8; Keziah, age 7; William, age 6; Mary, age 2; and Thomas, age 6/12.

In Muscogee County, not too far away, I have David and Martha with their children: Mary Ann, age 18; William H., age 16; Ann Eliza, age 14; Elizabeth, age 11; and James, age 3.

David has been identified as a son of Richard Gunn (I need to look this up for sure). His birth date is roughly 1805 which would make him about 10 years older that William.

I have been unable, likewise, to make the connection but there is another possiblity and I have very little to go on so have not pursued it until such time as I retire. Senator James Gunn in Jefferson County left a family that may or may not still be there. I have had a very difficult time finding any of them, although the census records show that they are there. Senator James was a nephew of the original William and eldest son of William's brother John. A lot of history that doesn't belong here.

You might want to pursue the David thing and see what happens. I will, likewise, consult my records in the archives and see what turns up. E-mail me.

Chairman, Genealogy Committee
Clan Gunn Society of North America

James, Thank you for replying, I don't have the parents of Purnel yet, I'm working on all the Ind-Iowa-Ohio-Ark. lines, to maybe get a clue to who they were. I'm from his son John and Anna Clearwater Chance, kinda seems like it was a small bunch of the Chance's that went to Ind-Iowa, the rest to the Southern states, or stayed in N.C, De. and Maryland, and all seem to lead back to Richard "the Emigrant" in Somerset Md..can you send me some of your names?, maybe we can connect them that way-they seen to of all married into the same families--Did Thomas stop, and stay in Tn.? You can e-mail me at Walddo2u@aol.com, I'd be happy to exchang info,
never know, we might connect some of the dots--

There children were named the same, The Chances re-used names. Do you have any Info. on the parents of Thomas & Pernell.
Sincerely, James B.
