I think that I am searching for the same person. I am looking for a Walter Alexander Baldyga, son of unknown Baldyga and Eva Unknown. Based on a WWI military record, I think that he was born in 1898. He died abt. 1923 in Illinois, possibly of heat stroke. He married Frances Eva Badura and had two children, Margaret (married Donald Shea) and Genevieve (married Leonard Schwarz). Frances remarried Henry Mensen and they lived in Wisconsin.

Hi. I also have family with the name Baldyga but do not know where they are from in Poland. I was told Wielka but do not see this on any map. Does this sound familar to anyone? Also, Are your Baldyga's Jewish?

I am one of 12 children of Piotr and Mary Baldyga only one of whom has passed away, Irene burns. I lived in Connecticut where my father, and my uncle, Faustyn, set up a Jitney bus company and it later became the Gray Line Bus. My father and mother are now deceased. My wife,Louise (Convard)and I have 5 children and twelve grandchildren scattered throught the USA. We formerly lived in Fairfield and for the past 18 years since retirement in Aspetuck Village a condo community in Huntington (Shelton)Ct.

I was fortunate to meet one of my Baldyga cousins from Poland who was working here in New Jersey. He met my family and I when we vacationed in Poland took us to a village called Bialagrondy. All of the inhabitants of this village were named Baldyga. There was even a cemetery were I was shown the graves of my great grandparents. The village was were my grandfather Zygmunt Baldyga was born and where he lived until immigrating to the USA.

My Great Grandfather was also named Ignacy Baldyga b. abt 1878 in Poland (somewhere)died 19 Apr 1928 in Fall River MA his parents are listed as Jan Baldyga and Anna Carr (spelling is ?) He owned a small grocery store in Fall River MA was married twice and had atleast 11 children. His 1st wife died giving birth to twins 1916. My Grandfather Walter Ignacy(or Ignatious) Baldyga b.1912 was the only son who married(or lived to be old enough to) but had 4 daughters. My Mom is 1 of a set of twins. There were no Baldyga's to carry on the name here. I cannot find any info on my Ancestors.

You are correct in saying there were many Baldygas in West Warren Mass. My grandparents Mary and Joseph were both living and working there. They moved to RI arond 1923 and lived in Central Falls beforemoving to Cumberland.
I'd loved to talk to you about your Baldyga connection.
Are you related to theRomanski funeral home owners in Central Falls? I live in Rhode Island.

I suggest you might consider Warren, West Warren or other towns in Worcester County, Massachusetts, for there are numerous Baldygas there, some of which I am related to:

Update to Ignacy Baldyga.My grandfather came to theUSA 5/31/1889.aboard the ANDREAS HERMANDEZ..He came to stay with a brother in law JOZEF SZYMANSKI who lived somewhere in Massachusetts.The name of the town he went to cannot be made out from the ships manifest. From MASS he went to Nanticoke,Pa My grandmother Sofia,came with her 5 children,6/19/1907.My grandfather had three sisters Alexadria.Janka,and Telka living in the USA others I don't know,but he had others .

My 2nd great grandfather Michal Stawarski (*1860 in Sieniawa) had a sister Sabina who got marry with Mr. ... Wlazlo. I'll be in August in Sieniawa, I'll search infos about my family Stawarski in church record, but if you want, I can search an information for you. Searching for the above born in Illinois or Wisconsin around 1890-1900. Had brothers Frank and Joe, mother was Eva and father is unknown. Married Frances Josephine Badura. Had two daughters, Margaret and Genevieve. Supposedly died in Illinois around 1923-1925 of T.B. or heatstroke.

Jason, I was on the internet when I seen your posting. Although our last names are different maybe their is a correlation. I do know that my familily orginally wrote thier last name like you do. Like I said maybe there's a connection.

My grandmothers sister Mary Wlazlo Married Stanislaus Baldyga who was from Dudy Poland I do not have his date of birth but it should be around 1884 I think he meet Mary in Connecticut They were working in the silk mills I do not know what town I have a wedding picture of them and think they were married about 1904 or 1905 in connecticut but have not been able to verify this They were in Buffalo New York for the 1910 Census Maybe there is a connection

Unfortunaely I speak not very good English.
Looking for ancestors and brothers or sisters of my great grandmother Marie Baldiga. She was born 1868 in Liebenberg, near Ortelsburg (East Prussia) and married Franz Witte. Her parents were Franz Baldiga and Eva Kaczynski.
Some brothers or sisters of my great grandmother emigrated probably to Amerika.

i am also looking for wlazlo relatives. my grandfather came from europe and then brought my grandmother over. they lived in syracuse new york in the early 1900's. my grandfather's name was petrus wlazlo born in june 1882. my grandmother's name was mary sovola (not sure on spelling).

Michigan Baldyga

I am looking for any information on my relatives. I was born in Detroit in 1971 shortly after my father died in military. My fathers name was David Leo Baldyga, my grandfather's name was Leo Baldyga who also lived with my grandmother in Florida and I believe he died in 1980's. Far too soon to tell, but my ggfather, Ignatz Wlazlo, who lived in Sieniawa Poland had four of his daughters emigrate. Cooincidentally, one was named Mary, one Aniela. Other two were Isabella and Janina. Settled in Connecticut, Penna, and Ohio circa 1900-1910. Have no idea of any brothers or sisters Ingatz may have had. Did Petrus come from the lower southeastern part of present day Poland as did Ignatz? Might be a connection.

I am looking for the ancestors and siblings of my grandparents Joseph John BALDYGA (born 15 January 1885) and Mary Maya ANDRZEJCZYK (born 6 January 1886). Both from Dudy, Suwalskie (Now Warminsko-Mazurskie). I believe Dudy is near the town of Kreuzofen (Krzyc).

They were married in West Warren, Massachusetts in about 1907. Joseph and Mary had five children, all born in Clinton, Massachusetts: Rosalie V., Joseph F., Walter J., Helen A., and Irene M. BALDYGA.

Joseph's father may have been Martin BALDYGA. Mary Maya's parents were John ANDRZEJCZYK and Louise GROMELSKI
