Hello, I know how you feel, my Mother passed away in 2000 and it still seems like yesterday.
So you got to go to Oregon. I bet that is a great beautiful place to live at. You are very lucky.

My Simpson's (my grandparents) came fro Missouri to Oklahoma when my Dad was a little boy and that was where I was born ,raised and living in right now.

My line of Eddleman's from what I can tell came from Maryland to Tennessee then to Kentucky to Henry county, In. In about the last of 1870 's. , my line came to Gentry county, Missouri from Henry county, Indiana. My Dad was born in Gentry county, Missouri. I have never been there and Dad has not been back there since his parenst moved to Oklahoma.
lisa

Lisa, The information you sent is AWESOME! I have found the links to my extended family that I have not been able to hook into. It was rumored that my grandmother Alice lived in California where she and her parents picked fruit or vegetables as migrant workers. So, your info on the Fresno, CA give evidence to where the family traveled. I believe I have pictures of Melissa, Mary and Sallie and their children but I had no last names. Thanks so much!!
Infant of Charley Baley - 1914 death notice

Taken from:
The Irving Index (Dallas County, TX)

7 Jan 1915
DIED
The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charley BALEY
departed this life at the home of Porter BALEY in
the
Elm community, December 31, 1914, only a few
months
old. This precious little son was of few days
and
full of trouble, as we learn from that book that
should be the guiding hand of all men. All
ministers
can truthfully say too father and mother of the
departed child, that they surely know where this
child
is, though dead. - Far beyond the parental
wantenfulness, under the keen eye of him who
said,
"Suffer little children to come unto me." And
forbid
them not, yes Mother, when you give your infant
child
in death, there is no wondering or musing in your
mind, it is safe.
Funeral services and interment conducted by Dr.
L.
COMBO at the Sowers cemetery, January 1, 1915, in
presence of numerous relatives and friends.
L. C.

Re: Baley/Bailey of NJ, NY, and MI

I descend from Henry Bailey b. abt 1812 in NY. His mother's first name was Osa/Ose/Ora and she was born in NJ. Henry was in Yates County, NY as early as 1835. He had a brother Adam b. abt. 1816 and a sister Clarasa b. abt. 1817. They were also in Yates County. Adam was here through 1875 and Clarasa appears in 1865 only (as a widow with the surname Mead). Ose married a Philip Sawdy before 1850 and by 1855, she was widowed again and also used the surname Mead. This was the last record of her. Henry disappeared after 1865.
I have tried to connect Henry to some of the other Bailey/Baleys in Yates County, but have been unsuccessful. He and wife Lavina Mead had 12 children, of which I can only name five.
Do any of these names appear in your Baley records?
