Looking for information on Herbert K. Ballew, the son of Oscar and Myrtle Ballew of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Herbert was an Army Private First Class with the U.S. Army Finance Department in the Philippines at the start of World War II. Herbert was aboard the Japanese Hellship Arisan Maru on 24 October 1944 when it was torpedoed by the USS Shark. Herbert is still listed as Missing In Action.

I have no connection with the Ballew Family. I'm conducting research for the U.S. Army Finance Corps.
