Frank, I don't know if we are related or not. There's always strong possibly though. I know my great grandfather had a brother named Peter and his wife was Kate. They lived for a while with my Great Grandfather Michael and his wife Mary. I believe they along with several other Balons' moved to Springville NY. My Mom told me that the Balons' in Springville spell the name Ballon. They are related to us. I would not be surpised if we are related. Do you when your grandfather came to the US from Poland? My great grandfather came before the ellis island site was the only port of entry required. I know everyone was required to come through ellis island by 1892. I have looked on the new ellis island site and I have not found my great grandfather listed so I assume my great aunt was right. I am still trying to find his marriage license so I can get a better idea. I am also looking for naturalization records as they might give more ideas. By the was, is Freeland, PA? I was raised in Bradford PA just on the border of western NY, I don't recognize the name. Is it near Scranton? Thanks for your time. If you wish you can email me directly at my email address which is gracemw@juno.com Thanks again.
