Gayle,

all Niergarth's can be traced back to Germany in the 1600's, doubtless there is a connection, but I don't have it right now. I'm waiting on a source who might be able to connect the dots. Rather then posting piles of messages, please email me direct. Thanks.

joelniergarth@sympatico.ca

Obituary of Henry Bally from Denver Tribune, Miami Co., IN 1902

Henry Bally was born in Bavaria, Germany, in the year 1826; died at his home near Chili, Ind., June 1, 1902, aged 76 years. In the year 1833 he with his father and mother emmigrated to America. His mother was not permitted to reach America with the rest of the family, but died and was lowered in the bosom of the deep when not more than one days voyage from land. His father with the rest of the family landed at New York, and finally settled in Lancaster Co., Penn., where they remained for a few years, then going to Ashland Co., Ohio, where he remained until the death of his father. In the year 1852 he came to Miami Co., Ind., where he resided until his death. He leaves a wife, three children and seven grandchildren, who mourn their loss. Two children preceded him to the spirit world. He joined the Brethren church in 1896. He bore his sickness with courage, and left evidence of a soul resigned to his Father's will. The funeral service was held in Chili Baptist church, on Tuesday, conducted by brother Irvin Fisher assisted by brother Frank Fisher. Intermen t in the cemetery near by.
