My GGGrandfather Jonathan Balmforth was born in Elland in August 1838, the third child and first son of John and Hannah (Gledhill). I have not been able to trace any other family member as Jonathan joined the Royal Artillery aged 18 and travelled widely.

I have not been able to successfully trace the birth of John as I have found a couple of possibilities.
